Parents - Youth Sports
You are probably wondering how youth sports has to do with going green? Well really not much, but this question "As a parent, how do you encourage and reinforce the positive aspects of youth sports?"
I believe it is important to encourage children to participate in sports, not only being apart of team builds important life skills of cooperation, value of yourself in giving 100% since others are relying on you, building friendships, respects for others, understand and honor your commitment of participating, showing up for practice even when you rather be home in bed and learning to be a humble winner as well being a gracious loser.
Sometimes saving energy can mean, using kid energy to help build strong character skills, strong bodies and valuable social skills.

A great site http://www.answerblip.com posed the question regarding "White Coffee Filters"
Check this site for the answer, not only going green by change your "light bulb" but changing your coffee filter!

The old way of light bulbs Incandescent bulbs
The "green" way of light bulbs Compact Fluorescent
Why you ask?
- Compact Fluorescent bulbs use 66% less energy than Incandescent ones.
- Of course, Compact Fluorescent last 10 times longer than Incandescent bulbs.
- Cost my friend! By replacing ONE 100-watt Incandescent bulb with ONE 23-watt Compact Fluorescent bulb can save you about $20 in energy costs!
